2022 AZ 01 – US House Race

The incumbent is Republican David Schweikert, who was re-elected in Arizona’s 6th congressional district with 52.2% of the vote in 2020.

The district contains much of the northeast suburbs of Phoenix. It is similar in composition and structure to the old 6th district, though it is more competitive and slightly larger; in addition, the district now contains central Phoenix and most of the downtown area. Schweikert has filed paperwork to run for re-election.

The 7th district includes the western suburbs of Denver and central Colorado, including Arvada, Lakewood, Broomfield, and Cañon City, but also a large portion of central Colorado.

The incumbent is Democrat Ed Perlmutter, who was re-elected with 59.1% of the vote in 2020. Perlmutter announced that he will retire at the end of his term, creating an open seat.

The Democratic candidate is Brittany Pettersen. The Republican candidate is Erik Aadland.

The new 17th was drawn to be reasonably more Democratic-leaning than its predecessor. The new district contains nearly all of its Democratic-leaning urban portions of its former territory, while most of the Republican-leaning areas of the old 17th were drawn into the neighboring 15th and 16th districts. Had the new 17th existed in the 2020 election, Joe Biden would have carried it by 8 points, whereas Donald Trump carried the old 17th by 2 points in 2020.

The 2022 United States House of Representatives elections in Maine will be held on November 8, 2022, to elect the two U.S. representatives from the state of Maine, one from each of the state’s two congressional districts. The district has a PVI of R+1, but voted for Joe Biden by 5 points in 2020. The incumbent is Democrat Antonio Delgado, who was re-elected with 54.5% of the vote in 2020. On May 3, 2022, Governor Kathy Hochul announced her intent to appoint Delgado to the vacant Lieutenant Governor position, thus leaving the seat open.

The 13th district includes most of the Akron – Canton population corridor. The incumbent is Democrat Tim Ryan, who was re-elected with 52.5% in 2020. On April 26, 2021, Ryan announced that he would seek the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by two-term Senator Rob Portman.

This district is included on the list of Democratic-held seats the National Republican Congressional Committee is targeting in 2022. The seat was altered significantly due to redistricting, now including all of Summit County and switching out parts of the Mahoning Valley for Canton. Despite this, it remains a Democratic leaning swing seat.

From 2012 to 2020, the 4th district included the southern Willamette Valley and the South Coast, including Eugene, Corvallis, and Roseburg. The district was kept largely the same despite redistricting, though it did gain parts of the central coast previously in the 5th district, making the district more Democratic leaning. The incumbent is Democrat Peter DeFazio, who was re-elected with 51.5% of the vote in 2020. He is retiring.

From 2012 to 2020, the 5th district straddled the central coast, and included Salem and the southern Portland suburbs. The new 5th district keeps the southern suburbs of Portland and reaches further into the city, but does not include any coastline, instead stretching southwards through the eastern parts of Marion and Linn counties to Bend.

The incumbent, Democrat Kurt Schrader, was re-elected with 51.9% of the vote in 2020. He lost renomination to Jamie McLeod-Skinner.

Pennsylvania’s first congressional district includes all of Bucks County and a sliver of Montgomery County in southeastern Pennsylvania. It has been represented by Brian Fitzpatrick since 2019.

The state congressional district map was redrawn by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in February 2018 after ruling the previous map unconstitutional due to partisan gerrymandering; the previous 1st district was geographically succeeded by the newly redrawn 2nd district which on November 6, 2018, elected Brendan Boyle, the incumbent from the 13th district. The new first district is similar to the previous eighth district, with the new boundaries going into effect for the 2018 elections and representation thereafter.

Fitzpatrick, the incumbent from the previous 8th district, was elected on November 6, 2018, to the newly redrawn 1st district. As of 2022, it is one of nine districts that voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election while being held or won by a Republican.

The 34th district stretches from McAllen and Brownsville in the Rio Grande Valley, northward along the Gulf Coast. The incumbent is Republican Mayra Flores, who was first elected with 50.9% of the vote in 2022. On March 22, 2021, former incumbent Filemon Vela announced that he would not seek reelection in 2022.

However, on October 26, 2021, Vicente Gonzalez, the current Congressman for Texas’s 15th congressional district announced that he intended to run in the new 34th district after the 15th became more Republican and his residence was put into the 34th.

Iowa’s 3rd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Iowa that covers its southwest quadrant, roughly an area including Des Moines to the borders with Nebraska and Missouri.

From 2003 to 2013, it encompassed Des Moines (on the western end), to the western outskirts of the metropolitan area of Cedar Falls and Waterloo (on the northeastern end), to the western outskirts of the Cedar Rapids area (on the eastern end), and to Lucas County and Monroe County (on the southern end).

The 2024 United States House District 7 election in Pennsylvania was held on November 5, 2024.  The seat was held by Susan Wild.

The two leading candidates are Susan Wild – Democrat and Ryan Mackenzie – Republican.  Ryan Mackensie received 203,621 votes and Susan Wild 199,406 votes.
